I have been a busy girl...

Living life unemployed is a very interesting thing. One one hand, I hate it and really really want to get back into a routine, but on the other hand, I love being able to do whatever I want, and have I ever been doing things!

Since my last post, I have spun a bit more yarn. I also ordered a lighter spindle so that I can make some finer. I spoke with a local yarn shop near my house about taking a lesson on a spinning machine, but I haven't quite got around to it yet. Maybe once I'm working again I can justify buying a wheel, but not now.

I've also found an interest in dyeing yarn, and have started with some purchased wool and kool-aid. If you haven't heard of/tried dyeing with Kool-aid, check out this tutorial on knitty.com.

So far I've been getting varied results, and I'm looking forward to getting some acid dyes from Dharma Trading.


Finally, I taught myself to knit, thanks to some books, the videos at knittinghelp.com, and what I remember from my grandma teaching me as a kid. I have nothing to show for it so far except this bit of unraveled yarn, but trust me, I can do it!

Today in general was a very productive day... I even managed to make a blog post! ;)
